The preeminent accomplishments in these crafts were the many ritual objects, offering vessels, temple furnishings and thanks, or religious scroll paintings, which were widely used in a culture, imbued with spiritual practices. During the Cultural Revolution thousands of such treasures were destroyed by the communist Chinese and under the current conditions in Tibet the survival of these traditional arts is gravelly imperiled. Consequently, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Government-in-Exile have established the Center for Tibetan Arts and Crafts in Dharamsala, India. Highly respected master craftsmen have been engaged to train young Tibetans in the traditional manner, and while much of their effort is still on behalf of the Tibetan communities, we have also developed a variety of quality export products. Using brass, copper, white metal and pure silver, the artisans have created functional and decorative pieces that you will enjoy having in your home and presenting as gifts, In addition, we offer a fine selection of silver earrings, pendants, rings and bangles, derived from Tibetan jewelry designs and adapted to contemporary styles. Traditional ritual items and medicated incenses are also available. From our tailoring center, we have wide range of Tibetan clothing, suitable for men and women. Handsome Tibetan shirts in assorted fabrics, hand-knit natural woolen sweaters, caps and gloves, multi-colored woolen jackets, fashionable coats, and traditional Tibetan boots are all available in a wide range of sizes for children and adults.
